Annie Nightingale marks 50 years of broadcasting with 'Masterpiece'
She's mixed the next instalment of Ministry of Sound's compilation series
When you've been in the broadcasting game as long as Annie Nightingale has, you deserve some recognition.
She's certainly getting that recognition from Ministry of Sound, as the global brand has asked her to curate the next 'Masterpiece' compilation.
Annie has squeezed in tracks from the likes of The Streets, MGMT and Flux Pavilion plus many more across three CDs, which are a reminder of the fact that she's always supported underground music.
About the compilation, the broadcaster said: "It's the story of (mostly) British music over the past five decades from the touchstones who started it all off. From Paul McCartney of The Beatles to The Rolling Stones and The Who, right through to the artists of today whom I think so much of. Many of these titans have never agreed to being on a compilation before – and certainly not together."
Annie Nightingale's 'Masterpiece' will be released on July 17.
