Ambiq (Margaret Dygas Remix)

Deep, ambient sounds from Margaret Dygas

Max Loderbauer, Claudio Puntin and Samuel Rohrer aka Ambiq are a pretty impressive group of artists. All well-versed producers that skirt the borders of contemporary music and free jazz. so think dusty soundscapes presented with classical instrumentals, offset with walls of electronic noise.

Their music is always unpredictable and that's the beauty of it. In that sense it lends itself to remixes perfectly, allowing producers to put their own spin on tracks that never follow one route.

Back in March last year, we premiered Ricardo Villalobos' epic ten-minute remix of 'Tund' and now we return with another artist's reimagining. This time it's Margaret Dygas that's taken the reigns and it's a stunning piece of music.

Dygas also opts for an extended rework, with her edit of 'The Mother' clocking in at just under nine-minutes. You can look forward to a deep and haunting new take on the original, with a flurry of delicate instrumentals, laced with intergalactic gurgles.

We don't usually describe music as a work of art but this remix is an exception. Beautiful stuff.

AMBIQ 2 Remixed by Thomas Fehlmann & Margaret Dygas will be released on March 4 via Arjunamusic, grab it here
