Always Sunny launches new event series, marrying wellness with electronic music

The project is intended to be a healthy way of building community through parties, live-streams and free wellness events

London-based community Always Sunny has announced its next phase after the initial launch rave in February this year.

The project has announced its second party will take place on June 4, featuring founder sunboi, Goh Well and Ella B. Alongside this, a six-week wellbeing agenda has been made available, including work with London’s Stretch yoga studio.

Those who have tickets for the party on June 4 get free access to the wellbeing events - including the yoga classes, guided meditations and sound healing sessions.

Always Sunny coins itself as ‘not just a party, not just a wellness group’. A key component for the project is balance, reinforcing that one doesn’t need to feel ‘stuck’ to sober raving or a ‘tough’ routine to incorporate wellness into their life, the motivation behind the brand in the beginning stemmed from sunboi’s experiences in the clubbing sphere.

The simultaneous aims of Always Sunny include education, emphasising the importance of wellness and routine whilst holding music and club culture at the core, provision of inclusive access to high quality activities, and building a community where individuals can extend conversations to outside the club if desired.

“I have been working in the music industry for over eight years and throughout that time have faced some big hurdles regarding my relationship with partying and my own sense of wellbeing,” he explains. “Sometimes I was feeling off the rails, other times I denied myself experiences just so I could stay sober and feel healthy. I struggled to sustain a middle ground, moving from one end of the scale to the other.

“I felt that a community needed to be created in dance music where a different narrative is held. A narrative that cultivates balance and gives space for people to re-explore their relationship with themselves and partying. We want to provide opportunities for our community to take care of and be more connected to themselves and one another.”

Tickets for next week’s party, which promises a mixture of sounds ranging from house, to garage, to electro and more, vary in price between £8 and £12.50. They are available now - get yours here.

Features on the wellness programme, including the yoga, meditation and sound healing, take place on Wednesday and Thursdays respectively.
