Alix Perez to launch new label next month

The 'Elephant Dreams' EP is the first release on 1985 Music

A new EP from Alix Perez is on the way via his new label, 1985 Music.

The Belgian producer is joined by Exit Records affiliate Skeptical on two of the tracks on 'Elephant Dreams', of which Perez says is "rooted primarily in the 85/170 bpm bracket."

Perez says the aspect of creative freedom was the reason for launching the imprint, with him in charge of the early releases.

"It feels good to have complete creative control of music, design and overall feel and this is the exact reason behind this project. No compromise, just an honest creative outlet.

"Initially, for the first few releases it will entail my solo work with some collaborations. Subsequent releases will include other artists that are pushing the boundaries and suit the path of One Nine Eight Five."

'Elephant Dreams' comes out digitally on June 17, with the vinyl release available from July 1.
