AKG and Mixmag explore how Moon Boots' obsession with disco yields his emotive sound
The Anjunadeep affiliate is exploring deep textures and funky melodies
With an emphasis on seclusion, artistic solidarity and refined audio gear from AKG, Mixmag and Samsung teamed up to bring a handful of musicians to the remote forests of Woodstock, New York and the open desert of Joshua Tree, California for two wholly unique electronic music retreats. Immersed in these thought-provoking environments, we created an engaging original mini-documentary on each participating artist to give viewers a novel perspective on their profile and creative process.
Taking part in our Woodstock retreat was Brooklyn-born DJ and producer Moon Boots.
During his time in college going to various parties, Moon Boots soon found himself devouring as much dance music as he could while simultaneously studying classic composition. The combination of the two led him to a thriving career in clubland. Explaining how his emotional and physical connection to sound inspires him, Moon Boots breaks down his passion for music as being “the pure release you get when writing something that you enjoy.”
