AKG and Mixmag explore how Kaleena Zanders becomes a different person on stage

The bold vocalist opens up about her creative process

With an emphasis on seclusion, artistic solidarity and refined audio gear from AKG, Mixmag and Samsung teamed up to bring a handful of musicians to the remote forests of Woodstock, New York and the open desert of Joshua Tree, California for two wholly unique electronic music retreats. Immersed in these thought-provoking environments, we created an engaging original mini-documentary on each participating artist to give viewers a novel perspective on their profile and creative process.

Taking part in our Woodstock retreat was rising vocalist Kaleena Zanders. With a musical forte that has emerged from her love of instinct and improv, Kaleena Zanders aims to find ways to express her creativity in the here and now. A graduate of The Musician's Institute, Zanders’ powerful voice and heart-tugging ballads embody concepts such as courage and identity. While explaining the early stages of her blossoming career, Zanders shares how she found ways to overcome feelings of stage fright and transform into a commanding performer by getting fully lost in her own music.
