Acre

Hyperactive, cyber-like sounds on Tectonic Recordings

Tough, brutish and hard-as-nails is how Acre likes his tunes to sound.

The Manchester-based artist has produced plenty of them like that, from last year's 'Icons' EP on Pinch's Tectonic and the 'Burning Memories' EP on Cold Recordings to the utterly gnarly Filter Dread collaboration, 'Interference', on Codes and the sawtooth 'No Signal' that made it onto Mumdance's 'Fabriclive' 80.

Now, finally, comes his debut album, 'Better Strangers', wielding 12 insanely razor-sharp cuts spanning space-age grime and moody drone.

'Spiral' falls under the weird and winding grime category, powered by heavy-kicking steel drums and hyperactive, cyber-like synths that sound like they've come from the future. Buckle up, this one's a belter.

'Better Strangers' is out via Tectonic Recordings on November 13. Buy it here
