A sneak peek at New York's newest club, Flash Factory
Recycling has never looked so good
New Yorkers, prepare - yet another new club is about to join your list of must-see venues in the city. Flash Factory is currently putting its final touches before opening to the public on January 22.
Flash Factory is the reimagined brand and vision that will take over the old Chelsea space formerly known as Shadow Nightclub located at 229 West 28th Street.
The dreamy new space describes itself as a multi-chamber "interactive forest", and was constructed using mostly salvaged materials from schools, temples and churches. The spirit and inspirations of the materials' past lives remains in much of Flash Factory's updated design, which mimics an otherworldly, "ruins" vibe similar to that of popular ruin pubs in Budapest.
Flash Factory is set to become one of the city's largest venues with 10,000 square feet of space for guests. The venue will be split into a number of distinct areas including a theater, lounge, stage, DJ booth, elevated cabana areas as well as a secondary bar.
Co-founder of Flash Space Mike Satsky explained that he wants people to feel as though they are at a music festival every time they come to Flash Factory. Additionally, he hopes to leave behind the snobbish club mentality of exclusive entry and being stuck behind roped off areas. "The only selectivity will be the music."
