Simon Cowell tries to cash in with woeful 65-year-old DJ on Britain’s Got Talent

*emits long, low groan*

DJing on variety shows is nothing new. Simon Cowell even wanted to make an X-Factor for DJs before it was thankfully dumped. Now the latest sensationalised reality TV story is here, and DJing is her vehicle to superstardom.

Christine Tew is a 65-year-old former registrar and nurse who appeared to turn the set of Britain’s Got Talent into Tomorrowland at the weekend.

Taking the stage in a brown cardigan, her classical leanings were hyped up in the backstory before she revealed herself as DJ Dizzy Twilight by whipping her clothes off and launching into a DJ set that consisted of Fatboy Slim, David Bowie and Frank Sinatra.

It was terrible but of course the judges loved it because “she’s old but she’s playing young people’s music!” and sent her through to the next round.

Britain, meet your next, less problematic, Honey G.
