50 Weapons will celebrate the end in style

The record label is closing, but not without a proper send-off

50WEAPONS is coming to an end after 10 hardcore years, and they are making sure they go out with a bang.

The alternative techno music record label started in 2005 and was always intended to close after 50 releases. The imprint was started by Modeselektor and has played home to artists such as Benjamin Damage, Shed and Bambounou.

The label is celebrating the end in true style. They are releasing eleven final tracks, a special collector's box, embarking on a worldwide tour and teaming up with radio station NTS Radio to host a two hour long show every Tuesday in October.

The final tracks to be released include music by artists such as Truncate and Modeselektor themselves. The collector's box will include eleven 12-inch coloured vinyls and a USB of twenty-two digital files, and is available for pre-order now through the Monkeytown Records website.

As if there was any doubt before, it is now certain 50WEAPONS will not be forgotten anytime soon.
