500 people turned up to a 24-hour house party with bouncers on the door

Festive season is underway

Ravers in South Norwood, Croydon got into the Christmas spirit at the weekend, with 500 turning up to a house party on Saturday night.

The rave went on for 24 hours according to local reports, unsurprisingly causing complaints from neighbours and the police being called.

One resident said: "The whole of our house was shaking - it was like being inside a proper club rather than at home." There were even bouncer on the door, to back up this quote.

Another neighbour went as far to say they heard a gunshot, but the Metropolitan Police searched the property and found no weapons.

However, there was a proper soundsystem set up and speakers in every room in true rave style.

A Met Police spokesman said: "We received several calls to reports of antisocial behaviour at an address on Belmont Road on Sunday. Our role at the scene was to prevent a breach of the peace as the gathering was dispersed.

"We helped the environmental health officer close down the property. No arrests were made and no injuries were reported."
