Large capacity venue approved for San Francisco

The San Francisco Entertainment Commission has permitted The Armory to open a 4,000-capacity venue in San Francisco.

The Armory was originally porn entertainment company Kink.com’s headquarters and studio, but has received a full entertainment permit to become a venue. Due to past unlicensed events in the space, the permit insists that the 40,000 square-foot space to be soundproofed and employ security to avoid negative impact to its surrounding community.

The permit was awarded in a 4-to-1 vote, but no immediate plans for the transition have been announced.
