The body of work as a whole spans eight tracks drawing inspiration from gemstones, reflecting their "multifaceted nature" whilst "offering listeners a journey through shimmering soundscapes that capture both the tangible and metaphysical meanings behind them".

Think textural layers, complex rhythms and vibrant, luminous melodies.

"'GEMZ' is the sequel to my first album, 'C / O' released in 2022 and later reissued in 2023," Tsuruta explains. "This album is themed around gemstones, exploring their rays of light, vibrant colours, and the meanings behind them. At first listen, many of the tracks might seem bright and reminiscent of sparkling crystals, but the more you listen, the deeper and more nuanced aspects, including darker elements and subtle details, begin to emerge.

"The first track, 'Twilight', was completed later than the other tracks, but it quickly became the standout song of this LP and established the musical world of 'GEMZ'. It evokes the transition from bright daytime light to the rich, terracotta-toned orange glow visible only at dusk."
