GoFundMe set up for Teklife member DJ Lucky following car accident

The fundraiser hopes to support ongoing medical bills while he's out of work

A fundraiser has been set up for footwork producer and Teklife affiliate DJ Lucky after he was involved in a car accident.

Last month, DJ Lucky was hit by a Jeep travelling at 45 miles per hour while walking on the sidewalk, according to Las Vegas producer DJ Virgil, who set up the fundraiser.

Virgil explained that Lucky did not suffer any critical injuries, but “the ones obtained are still serious with no way to positively confirm how they'll heal.”

“This easily could've left him paralyzed, with serious organ damage, or worse,” Virgil wrote, “but I'm beyond grateful to say he survived with no critical injuries.”

Lucky suffered several torn ligaments in his knee, including an ACL, PCL, and MCL tear, as well as back injuries, wounds to his eyelid and head which required stitches, and a “small amount” of bleeding and swelling in his brain.

While Lucky is said to be healing well and should be discharged from hospital soon, Virgil explained that the “road to recovery is going to be very strenuous on him physically and financially”.

The fundraiser hopes to support ongoing medical costs as well as personal bills while Lucky is out of work. Donations will go toward medical bills, supplies and general necessities, and funds to support his children.

“Being a passionate creative and iconic part of the footwork community, he's made a career with his talents as a travelling dancer, producer & DJ,” Virgil says. “It may seem easy, but each requires an amount of physical or mental effort he temporarily won't be able to exert.”

The fundraiser has currently collected more than $750 of a $4,000 goal. “I've made this with hopes that close friends, people that love him, and family can be generous enough to assist with the start of this journey,” says Virgil.
