Today, Manchester-based music brand Do As You Please is showcasing eight mixes from some early-career women DJs
Manchester-based music brand Do As You Please is celebrating International Women’s Day today with a twelve-hour mix series. Every hour and a half, a new pre-recorded mix will be shared online.
From 11am until 11pm today, Saturday March 6, Do As You Please will broadcast eight mixes from some local, homegrown talent, all women DJs who are up-and-coming in their respective scenes from across the UK.

The lineup features DJs like Leeds-based Tañ and Aletha, London’s Kloyd and Emma Rose, Norfn Gyal, ThtGrl, Saachi and Giles (pictured).
The online event has been conceived as a way to draw attention to the inequalities that remain for women and gender non-conforming people as dance music DJs.
Do As You Please’s founder Niall Roche has said, ‘At Do As You Please, we have a strong outlook on artist development and proper impartial opportunities within the music industry. We’re only a relatively new business but it’s become blatant that there is massive gender inequality within dance music and I’d like to find and support this generation’s female talent’ so that the next generation have role models to look up to.’
