Love Saves The Day returns for The 8th Chapter of Love

Two days of house, techno, drum ‘n’ bass and more in Bristol

Any conversation about Bristol’s music scene can’t be had without mention of Love Saves The Day, the two-day festival that takes over Eastville Park on May Bank Holiday weekend.

LSTD’s eighth edition takes place on May 25 and 26, once again bringing high-end stage designs and top-tier artists from around the world. Whether that be in house, techno, drum ‘n’ bass or disco.

Keeping in line with Bristol’s famed bass music heritage, the Sunday sees headliners Chase & Status (DJ set) bring their RTRN II JUNGLE showcase alongside General Levy, Skibadee, Shabba D and Brockie & Det. Ocean Wisdom, Not3s, Ray Blk, Congo Natty and the Rezistance and more will also play on the Main Stage.

Sunday also sees the return of former Mixmag cover star Denis Sulta, joined by Midland, Mella Dee, HAAi and Josey Rebelle for his Sulta Selects party. Two more Mixmag cover stars in Peggy Gou and Bonobo (DJ set) also grace the Sunday line-up, confirmed to play Paradiso alongside DJ Seinfeld and Chaos In The CBD.

Metalheadz celebrates 25 years on the second day, with much-hyped duo Children of Zeus, Prince Fatty and Horseman, Gardna & Kreed, Vibronics and Manchester drum 'n' bass collective Levelz.

Bristol bass collective The Blast takes over The Lonely Hearts Club on Sunday with pioneer David Rodigan, Holy Goof, Notion, Friction & Linguistics, Lady Leshurr and many others. Saturday at The Lonely Hearts Club sees Camelphat’s highly-anticipated Blow! party, with the likes of Dennis Ferrer, Eli Brown, Eli and Fur, and special guest Solardo.

Saturday’s Main Stage line-up brings together Maribou State, Manchester artist IAMDDB, Jimothy Lacoste and Lily Allen, with a strong rap line-up on Paradiso with Little Simz, Slowthai and Kojey Radical. Jamz Supernova and Ross From Friends also play here.

Palms Traxx, Antal, Orpheu The Wizard, DJ Nature and Christophe and Davy Harvey all grace Brouhaha on Saturday, while Artwork returns to the Lost Gardens stage with Horse Meat Disco and Gideon. DJ Die, Randall B2B Special Guest, SP:MC and Addison Groove are amongst the names for Sunday. Dub lovers will get a special education Channel One Soundsystem at Teachings In Dub all weekend.

LSTD has outlined its dedication to inclusiveness this year, stating “we welcome all races, all countries of origin, all sexual orientations, all genders, all religions.” The festival hopes that announcing these core values will “ensure that everyone has the best possible time when we come together.”
