The Cirencester-based quarry rave took police around eight hours to shut down
A 150-person rave took police around eight hours to shut down this weekend in Gloucestershire.
Police were called out to the illegal rave which took place at a quarry just outside of the rural town of Cirencester.
Locals called the police on reports of disturbance just before midnight on July 29 at Daglingworth Quarry.

At 2:23 AM, police reported that it had closed the main entrance to the quarry to stop more people from entering and warned others to stay away.
At the time police arrived it's estimated that 150 people were at the site according to Gloucestershire Live.
Eight hours later, at 10:29 AM, police released the following update: “Police continue to safely facilitate the departure of revellers and officers remain on site.”

The statement added: “We are following the relevant policy and legislation to ensure the illegal rave is shut down safely.”
Locals responded to the statement claiming: “It started at 11pm last night - still going,” and “Police presence has gone, music still making homes vibrate. Happy Sunday y’all..”
No arrests were made according to police who did serve a notice to the organiser.
Earlier this month, a DJ in Wiltshire stole the keys of a police van and threw them into a bush after police raided an illegal rave.
Reports claim that he “immediately regretted the stupid, reckless and thoughtless act", so went into the area he threw the keys to find them however was arrested before he could retrieve them.
