Daniel Avery collaborates with Nine Inch Nail's Alessandro Cortini on 'Waters'

Daniel Avery has collaborated with Alessandro Cortini, the synth player from US industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails on a new track entitled 'Waters'. The collaborative effort unfolds over eight and a half minutes as shimmering pads are punctuated by distorted bursts of white noise.

Nine Inch Nails was founded by Trent Reznor in Cleveland, Ohio in 1988 and went on to release a series of albums that dragged experimental noise rock in the public consciousness. The band notoriously recorded an album in a mobile studio parked outside 10050 Cielo Drive, the house where Sharon Tate was murdered by Charles Manson's cult. The group influenced the sound of David Bowie's later records, Deadmau5 and many other rock and techno acts.

"I’m very happy to announce a new collaboration with Alessandro Cortini, a master of electronic noise and synth player in Nine Inch Nails. I’m a huge fan of Alessandro’s work and I’m proud to share this music with you, something we’ve been working on for the past few months," Avery writes on his Soundcloud page.

The record will be available to buy on 7" white-label throughout this weekend (July 22 and 23) at FYF Festival in LA where Daniel Avery and Nine Inch Nails are set to play. Avery will play on Saturday while Nine Inch Nails will headline Sunday night at the festival. A repress looks unlikely.
