Whether you’re yet to get your first taste of the White Isle this summer, chomping at the bit to get back to the Balearics or just after an insight into what's been going down, our fortnightly update of some of the top tunes to have been played thus far this season is exactly what you need.
No rules apply, old or new, check out the third instalment below...
DJ W!LD 'Shape U'
Forthcoming on Rebellion, 'Shape U' is a track that combines tech house with funk and soul perfectly. Its brilliant sample of 70s disco group SOS Band makes it instantly stand out on any dancefloor and when DJ W!LD throws it down, people go crazy.
George Morel 'Let's Groove'
Marco Carola's Friday night Music On appears to be one of the front runners to take the accolade of residency of the season. His night consistently brings out the best in Amnesia's Terrace as its 9am closing time ensures only the heavyweights are left standing. At 6am the place becomes an entity of its own and as this house classic rang out, well, all hell broke loose.
DJ Rolando 'Jaguar' (original mix)
Another success story of the season thus far has to be the Barcelona-based night El Row. Known for its production, props and incredible vibe, it's becoming the go-to destination for those that know. After Joris Vorn headlined, it was in fact one of the residents that stole the show. 'Jaguar' is a track so epic that it once forced Sven Väith to tears and as this Detroit classic soared during El Row's customary explosion of confetti, it instantly won the mantel of tune of the weekend.
Simian Mobile Disco & Bicep (pictured) 'Sacrifice'
It sent our office into musical meltdown when we first heard Simian Mobile drop it during their DJ Lab session back in February and when Cassy played it mid set during her slot at DC10 she was nearly responsible for ripping the roof of the much-loved Terrace.
Frankie Knuckles 'Your Love'
The much-awaited opening of new Ibiza super club Booom was last week with Frankie Knuckles and David Morales headlining Defected's first event at its new Ibiza home. 'Your Love' could easily go down as one of the greatest dance tracks of all time but picture M People's live percussionist dressed in full Native American headdress playing both the bongos and congos over the top of this classic and you'll understand why this had to be a shoe-in for this instalment of killer tunes.
