SCARLETT ETIENNE BIG QUESTIONS:
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A Rock Star.
What’s the worst club you’ve been to?
I played at this club in Palma de Mallorca quite a long time ago. What transpired is probably too politically incorrect to put into print, so I'll just tell you that it was just...dark times. Something that Larry David would write into a club scene on Curb Your Enthusiasm. Cringe.
What’s been your worst job?
Picking dresses up off the floor of changing rooms and fulfilling the demands of wealthy women and their snot-nosed children in a posh fashion boutique in Texas.
What are you obsessed with right now?
How to go about being as awesome as Nile Rodgers. Buy his book Le Freak and read it, there are few individuals in this world who are as warm and wonderful as he is.
And what do you hate right now?
People who sit behind their computers and hurl abuse at respectable artists on social networks, youtube, and forums all day long. More pity than hatred.
When and where were you your happiest?
On top of a surfboard, over the waves of Malibu, some time last year.
How do you describe what you do to someone who doesn’t know you?
I play records for people in nightclubs and dance around and stuff. I also write music and play instruments.
Have you ever been arrested? And if so what for?
No. I'm a lady.

Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence
What’s the coolest thing in your house?
my Roland tr-808 drum machine.
What's the best piece of advice you've ever had?
Be yourself and no-one else.
Who's your all-time hero and why?
Madonna. People can say what they like about her, but let's be completely honest, she's the queen of f*cking everything.
What do you collect – apart form records?
What’s your vice?
Video Games. What were you doing at 2pm last Sunday afternoon?
I was in my room at the W Hotel, Hong Kong watching a recap of the Grammys on a flatscreen over the bathtub, covered in bubbles.
What's your answer to everything?
What would Tiga do?
What's your most prized possession that you've still got from when you were a kid?
My Simon & Patrick Luthier 12-string guitar. I sold my Harley Davidson leather jacket and all my Metallica, Green Day, and Beck CDs to acquire it. I was 12.

A burrito from Chipotle, this afternoon. Extra guacamole.
What can't you live without?
A good facial moisturizer.
Do you have a recurring dream?
The one where my teeth fall out, and the one where I'm pregnant / giving birth / unable to give birth / giving birth to strange things, usually when I've been writing songs or been in the studio a lot. Far-out.
What's the worst item of clothing you've ever worn?
I actually owned a pair of Birkenstocks when I lived in San Francisco. What the hell was that all about? I think I was attempting to embrace Californian culture.
If you had a Tardis, what time would you go to?
1000 years into the future, to witness all of the advancements in technology, the course that music has taken, and to see if we've made friends with aliens yet.
What’s your lamest claim to fame?
I performed as a backup singer for Shania Twain at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas once. Ain't nothin' wrong with country music, y'all.
