Mixmag Sub-Editor: Having published a book about dance music and culture way back in '98 called High Society ("finely written" - thanks, Mixmag!) it was probably only to be expected that I would eventually end up working at Mixmag Towers. In the 10+ years since graduating from Oxford I've done everything from carousing about with Shaun Ryder while working on his autobiography to writing entertainment news for Teletext, including stints indexing new-age self-help books and editing a fashion and beauty magazine.
My musical roots are in techno (Club UK, 1993-4) and house (Plastic People, 1995-8), but I'm currently listening to a lot of minimal and electro. My other clients may include mags like Vogue, Time Out and Stuff, but I'm most at home whipping Mixmag's pages into shape every month. At least here I get to listen to (mostly) decent music all day - unless someone's snuck Dire Straits on, that is...
