Apple have given a sneak peek into the future of their most powerful work station.
Taking the reins from the long-standing current iteration, the new model represents a dramatic upgrade in both form and function.
Designed around an innovative cooling solution, the Mac Pro is optimised for performance inside and out. Significantly faster and smaller than the existing model, Apple’s flagship work station packs in Xeon processors, dual AMD GPUs, PCIe-based flash storage, and ultra-fast ECC memory, all in a tiny 9.9-inch tall case.
One eighth the volume of the existing model, the new Mac Pro also offers a range of customisation options, so producers and power users can spec up their ultimate machine. Offering up to 12 core configurations that promise double the floating point performance. The all-new Mac Pro is up to 2.5 times faster than the current model.
Connectivity is also upgraded with six high speed Thunderbolt 2 ports giving users the ability to connect up to 36 high-performance peripherals, making transfer between external hard disks a seamless affair.
Already on the wish list of music producers everywhere, the new Mac Pro will be available later this year.
