GENERATIONWHY challenges the status quo

The mysterious ZHU has just released an 11-minute short film, titled GENERATIONWHY, after his recent debut album.

The visual piece explores curious symbolism up to interpretation, with a resounding theme of commentary on youth culture. Director American Millennial states: "This film is dedicated to those born into lives ruled by fear. It doesn't have to be this way. The answer may not be easy, but it is simple: never underestimate the power of one."

GENERATIONWHY opens with a cryptic setting of children training with firearms and proceeding to play a forced, twisted game of roulette.

The character escapes, surrounded by neon signs, with the words "PRIVILEGE", "Addiction", "REVOLUTION" and social media symbols before stumbling upon humans from the outside world. It's easy to decipher ZHU's message of conformity and power in the current era in the new short.
