Check out footage of Aphex Twin's first US performance in eight years
He also sold an exclusive new record at the festival
Aphex Twin performed in the US for the first time in eight years over the weekend and sold a mysterious new record at the event.
Taking place at the Day for Night festival in Houston, TX, Aphex Twin, aka Richard D. James, began his set with EPROM’s ‘Samurai’ before going into two hours of his distinctly experimental style. The show also featured a new visual component, similar to the animated portion of the bizarre election video he shared earlier this year.
Not to leave fans without a surprise, James offered an exclusive new vinyl record at the Day for Night merch table. Little is known of this new release, but the only text on the white label is the date of his performance along with logos of the festival, Aphex Twin and Warp Records.
Watch the first 30 minutes of Aphex Twin’s Day for Night set and check out a photo of the mysterious new record below.
