UK vinyl sales surpass the three million mark for the first time since 1991
2016 was a milestone year for wax
Over 3.2 million vinyls were sold in 2016, a figure which hadn't been reached in 25 years.
David Bowie's 'Blackstar' topped the top 10 list of records sold, contributing to a 53 per cent rise of sales compared to 2015, according to the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).
Radiohead's 'A Moon Shaped Pool' charted at number four, with Prince & The Revolution's 'Purple Rain' in at number 9.
1991 was the last time vinyl sales hit the three million mark and wax now represents five per cent of the albums market.
BPI's report also reveals there were 45 billion streams last year.
