Watch a day in the life of Diplo

Is that you, James Van Der Beek?

The newest Mad Decent Block Party promo video just dropped and its genius has nothing to do with the actual tour announcements.

The world's infatuation with Thomas Wesley-Pentz, aka Diplo, has strayed far from his musical talents. He's become an icon and topic of observation over his grandiose lifestyle, obscene performance schedule and seemingly endless supply of women and luxury.

Mad Decent's latest promotional video capitalizes on just that. Playing an overblown meme version of the star producer, James Van Der Beek dons Diplo's signature white tee, camo pants and fitted cap as he wakes up in a golden suite, walks through money rain, twerking women and - as Diplo does - fights off an army of ninjas. Oversaturated with the terms 'lit' and 'fam', the satire piece also shows Diplo paying a different person to do just about every daily task possible.

The video is hits the nail on the head as an over-the-top, but fittingly hilarious montage of one of the world's most famous producers who recently stated that he himself wasn't a "big fan of DJ culture". At least we can rest easy knowing Diplo doesn't have a problem poking fun at himself.

Watch the video below. It's lit, fam.
