The Lab NYC is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly afterwork party where we stream the best American and international DJs from the intimate space connected to our Brooklyn office. This Friday, Mixmag will host a special MATTER+ showcase with Victor Calderone and Avision.

Victor Calderone is one of the most celebrated electronic mainstays, with over two decades of work under his belt and collaborations with everyone from Madonna to Adam Beyer. Raised in Brooklyn and reaching international success as one of New York City's most brilliant DJs, Calderone created MATTER+ as a party series and then label representing multifaceted concepts of mind and body.

The label founder recently announced an upcoming EP on the imprint, as well as a monumental NYC warehouse event with Paco Osuna, Alexi Delano and Avision hosted by Teksupport this April. Victor will also be heading to Miami Music Week for performances with Osuna's Mindshake Records and as an ambassador for Richie Hawtin's Playdifferently.

Avision, another New York native, joins Victor Calderone in The Lab NYC. The fresh producer started releases with Calderone's Waveform Recordings and continued with works on Beardman and Suara. Support from techno icons like Nicole Moudaber, Chris Liebing and Carlo Lio speak to the immense talent of the new face.

Avision's most recent release is the 'I See It' EP and label podcast on MATTER+, with an upcoming work on Inmotion dropping February 27 titled 'Shadow Of The Sun'.

The Lab NYC is strongly powered by Void Acoustics. Subscribe to Mixmag TV and watch Victor Calderone and Avision live in The Lab NYC at 8PM EST on Mixmag's Facebook page.

The Smirnoff Sound Collective is all about bringing fans closer to the DJs, providing up and coming talent with a solid platform and throwing unique events where fans and artists can party together. Check out more from the Sound Collective here
