Few artists buy themselves out of major label contracts, but that's exactly what Steve Angello did prior to 'Wild Youth'.

For creative freedom purposes, he 'bounced a check' to Columbia Records. Now, released via his own Size Records, Angello's first solo outing since Swedish House Mafia's 2013 split comes packed with chart-destined collabs. 'Wasted Love', featuring The Temper Trap's Dougy Mandagi, is all stadium-filling choruses; Dan Reynolds from Imagine Dragons impresses on 'Someone Else', The Presets tackle loss on 'Remember', while 'Children Of The Wild' feels especially poignant. But it's 'Revolution', with Francesco Rossi, that's the most interesting, unexpected track.

A strong solo debut, 'Wild Youth' is a dance album with meaning.
