Ricoshëi in The Lab NYC

The Lab NYC is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly afterwork party where we stream the best American and international DJs from the intimate space connected to our Brooklyn office. This Friday, duo Ricoshëi are joining us in The Lab NYC.

Los Angeles natives Nikko Gibler and Jake Patrick Cohen are Ricoshëi, a duo that made their debut on DJ Koze's Pampa Records and have never looked back. Playing in support of Eric Prydz on a tour across North America, at Pete Tong and Luciano's events in Miami and at major international festivals like Lollapalooza, Coachella, BPM and Secret Solstice, the duo are well recognized for their performances, whether DJ, live or a hybrid of both.

Ricoshëi are also label bosses of their own What's That? label, which houses sounds of electronica including their own acclaimed 'Ghosts' EP and their most recent 'If Ever' single. Next to arrive will be their 'Bruce Lee' release, coming June 3 on What's That?

Ricoshëi also joined Mixmag for our Smirnoff Sound Collective retreat in Joshua Tree, working alongside MK, Joe Ray from NERO and many more.

Now, well into the spring of 2017, the Los Angeles’ based duo has announced they will be releasing their latest original piece, ‘Bruce Lee’, on June 6th 2017.

“The single is an ode to the discipline, wisdom, philosophy, and mastery found in martial arts and the application of it in every day life. An evocative and fresh representation of soul music that has hints of far- eastern influence, a solid groove, and a broad aural spectrum that takes listeners through a journey of funk, house, disco and space-era avant-gardé dance music.”

The release will be available exclusively on Beatport as of June 6th, 2017.

After their stint in The Lab NYC, on June 3 Ricoshëi heads to Fine & Raw Chocolate in New York City with A-Rock and Will Renuart. Find more info on the party here.
