Ricardo Villalobos lends his talents to not just one, but two remixes for Prins Thomas’ ‘Principe Del Norte Remixed’ album, which serves as a complete reimagining of the ambient originals.

When listening to the ambient soundscapes of Prins Thomas, it’s intriguing to imagine what a rhythmic savant like Villalobos would do to transform the material. Now we have been given a fine example in the form of two expertly crafted, psychedelic, minimal long players that showcase just how masterful Villalobos is.

Wonky, twisted clicks and a steady rhythm are what we have come to expect from the Berlin-based, Chilean producer and these remixes are littered with his signature motif.

Also included on ‘Principe Del Norte Remixed’ are remixes by The Orb, Gerd Jansen, I:Cube, Hieroglyphic Being and more.

Listen to both remixes by Ricardo Villalobos below and pick up ‘Principe Del Norte Remixed’, out now via Smalltown Supersound.
