Rhythm Section International has launched a new offshoot label dubbed International Black, focusing on more club-oriented styles of dance music.

Helmed by the experienced tastemaker and DJ Bradley Zero (pictured above), Rhythm Section has grown to become one of the more highly regarded underground imprints due to its eclectic catalogue, prompting Mixmag to select it as one of the Top 20 Record Labels of 2016. Now the new outlet will look to further cement its place within the scene by turning its attention to the dancefloor.

The first release on International Black is a split EP from South London producers Phrased and Ron Obvious titled INTLBLK001, set for release on March 3. The material was recorded entirely on analogue hardware using reel to reel tape.

When introducing the imprint’s inaugural release, the label revealed that it’s meant for times getting lost in the dance: “The record is made with the dancefloor in mind; channelling that moment in the club where things get dark, hypnotic, a bit weird and a lot more interesting.”
