Producergirls founder E.M.M.A (pictured) has launched a Kickstarter to take her free production courses for women across the UK.

Featuring tutors Dexplicit, P Jam, Ikonika and Nightwave, there have so far been three workshops held in London and one in Glasgow earlier this year. The next one is planned for Manchester on October 21.

The collective has never received funding in the past, but is looking to raise £2000 in an attempt to grow their grassroots movement.

E.M.M.A said: “We don't have any funding as it's just been self-starting, direct action with a few like-minded producers. It's a skill sharing, supportive environment for girls who want to learn but have not yet had the opportunity, funds or connections to do so.

“With an injection of cash, we think the project could have the chance to make a real difference to the scene.

“In total since we began, we've introduced around 80 women to music production from the events, but have had close to 1000 applications, which has hardly made a dent in the level of interest we've received.”
