Premiere: Kelela (Girl Unit remix)

Kelela's debut mixtape 'Cut 4 Me' was absolutely stunning. It seemingly came out of nowhere and, as if the Ethiopia-born, Los Angeles resident's sultry vocals and poignant lyricism weren't enough, it featured a shed load of productions from Night Slugs and Fade To Mind artists.

Bok Bok, Kingdom, Jam City, Nguzunguzu and Girl Unit were all on there providing fierce, drum-smacking beats and tracks like 'Cut 4 Me', 'Keep It Cool' and 'Floor Show' became anthems for the rough and rugged r'n'b-loving bass crew.

Now, about 18 months after it was released, a deluxe edition is dropping on CD and vinyl with remixes from all of those named above (apart from Bok Bok), with Neana, MikeQ, Massacooramaan and Rizzla also getting involved.

We've got Girl Unit's remix of the Kingdom-produced 'Send Me Out' and it's a beaming beauty. The booming smacks of the original have been removed, swapped for lush, washing synths and delicate beeps beneath Kelela's sweet vocals.

'Cut 4 Me (Deluxe Edition)' is out now on Fade To Mind
