Pacha Ibiza Dubai opens roof terrace in October

The Ibiza terrace vibe comes to Dubai

Like Vegas, Dubai is a city risen from a desert that takes the best the world has and builds its own version. Often bigger. And shinier. You like skiing? They have fake-snow covered hills. You like art? Down the road is their own Louvre. Wanna go clubbing? How about their own Pacha Ibiza? And we're not talking about just their own Pacha (like 17 other cities have) – this one has the name Ibiza in the title too, so you know it's legit.

While Pacha Ibiza Dubai isn't an exact replica of The White Isle's oldest hot-spot there are similarities; both are gorgeous, multi-levelled club spaces with exceptional soundsystems and top notch restaurants. Both have rooftops and side rooms offering different vibes to the house-heavy main rooms. And both come with leggy dancers, white curved walls and a girl-heavy smiling cosmopolitan crowd happy dancing to everything from David Zowie to Bobby Brown bootlegs.

Pacha Ibiza Dubai has been open since November and has hosted everyone from Dillon Francis to Prince. It's recently been taken over by a new management team who are re-launching many aspects of the venue including a new 'dinner and dance' club precursor (Ziya – which means 'light' in Arabic) that combines an enjoyable acrobatic dance show with a tasty five course meal - not unlike you'd find at The Supperclub. In fact, some of the top bods behind west-London's old Supperclub (now Mode) and outlandish Soho fashion club-venue, The Box, have joined the Pacha Ibiza Dubai team and will be bringing new shows and concepts to the club and roof space.

During Mixmag's visit the heat was a toasty 40C in the day but next month the temps will drop into the manageable 30's. As such the Pacha Ibiza Dubai roof opens on Sep 23, but our tip if you're planning some autumn sun: wait til October 3 when the safe hands of Simon Dunmore, Rae and Shovel take over the space as Defected In The House descends on Dubai.

Whilst the sparklers-in-champagne clubs aren't everyone's cup of tea, if you're heading to Dubai and fancy some opulence and a shower of gold ticker tape every twenty minutes Pacha is a complete no-brainer.
