Mushroom Group launches Soothsayer label with an EP from Sam Weston
A dose of soulful, late-night house from Sydney's own
World-renowned Australian electronic collective Mushroom Group have launched their own music imprint, Soothsayer, with the inaugural release comprised of three tracks from Sydney house prodigy Sam Weston.
As one of the world’s largest and longest running independent music collectives, Mushroom Group currently houses almost two dozen music brands. With founder Michael Gudinski still at the helm, it’s only fitting they launch an outlet to share new music that represents the group’s ethos.
Behind the label is a core team consisting of specialists in the electronic realm, including an A&R team with a background at labels like Greco-Roman and Modular. Expect an eclectic output, including everything from late-night house to experimental pop.
Along with Sam Weston, Soothsayer has also signed Dro Carey, aka Tuff Sherm, and the duo known as ALTA.
Sam Weston’s ‘Never Been In Love’ EP is set to land on December 2. Listen to ‘Never Been In Love (Part II)’ below.
