Metroplex to reissue classic Robert Hood and Mike Grant tracks
The machine-funk rarities get the repress treatment
Juan Atkins' Metroplex is set to repress a number of sought after records from the label's extensive back catalogue.
Among these are cuts from Robert Hood (pictured) and Mike Grant, two pioneers of techno. First on the release schedule is Hood's 'Spectral Nomad' EP, released in 1996 under his The Vision alias, which harks back to the artist's pioneering minimal sound: sparse percussion allied to dancing melodies.
Atkins' label will also reissue 'The Nature of the Beast', the 1997 12" from Black Noise, a duo consisting of Mike Grant and Damon Peterson.
Juan Atkins was one of The Belleville Three, a group of artists credited with the creation of the techno sound.
The tracks will be available via Metroplex's website soon.
