BBC Radio 1Xtra’s grime show presenter, Logan Sama, has been dropped from the platform following a series of "ignorant and offensive comments".
In an announcement Via Sama’s social media, the English grime DJ explained the situation: “Due to a number of ignorant and offensive comments I made as jokes amongst friends on a public platform, it has been decided by the BBC that I am not suitable to join their network as a representative.”
Sama would go on to apologize, stating that those comments “do not represent my true opinions” and he “must maintain higher standards”.
The BBC will not be making any further comments, according to a statement given to BBC News: "We never comment on matters concerning any individuals working with the BBC. Any allegations of inappropriate behaviour would always be taken extremely seriously and would be dealt with swiftly and appropriately."
Apparently a current 1Xtra DJ, Twin B, made Sama's past Twitter comments aware to the platform after the two DJs were joking together last week.
It was announced in October that Sama would be joining 1Xtra to host the grime show, but that offer has been revoked.
