Sound artist Kepla has joined forces with New York media theorist and music writer DeForrest Brown Jr. on a new release titled 'Absent Personae'.

In a fusing of field recordings and spoken word, the progressive project was commissioned by the Electronic Voice Phenomena, as “an interstitial spectre in transition, resonating with the sinister politics of pseudo-science histories, while speculating on identity as evasion and persona without orientation”, according to the press release.

The label explained: "The piece is a post-industrial Dérive considering the psychological liminal zones between old and new industry and urbanity, the changing landscapes of labor: a fractured genealogical memory trace obscured by intercepted signals and the liquidating flux of late capitalism."

'Absent Personae' is due out September 29 on vinyl, with track 'Absent Personae Postscript' scheduled as a bonus addition.
