Kaytronik in The Lab NYC

The Lab NYC is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly afterwork party where we stream the best American and international DJs from the intimate space connected to our Brooklyn office. This Friday, Mixmag will be getting down with Karizma's alter ego, Kaytronik.

Kaytronik - Karizma's bouncier, house-heavier alias - joins The Lab NYC fresh off the release of his first Kaytronik-branded album. 'Thee Album' arrived on R2 Records this past March with 17 original tracks showcasing the Baltimore artist's house, hip-hop and jazz flavors.

Kris Klayton first stepped into the limelight in the mid-90's when he joined The Basement Boys, a seminal Baltimore music group made famous by producing for stars like Michael Jackson, Paula Abdul and Erykah Badu. Since then, he has remixed and worked with a number of top shelf talent including Catz N Dogz and Seven Davis Jr. and most recently finished his APAC Tour earlier this year with Pioneer DJ.

DJ Joonya T takes the opening slot this week, a house-reggae, Soca and hip-hop artist that hails from Toronto. Pulling influences from a number of different scenes through the years, Joonya T has worked alongside Karizma, Kerri Chandler, Osunlade and more. He currently mixes a weekly live show on Handz On Radio and has been marked as a key up and coming player.

The Lab NYC is strongly powered by Void Acoustics. Tune into our Facebook page or watch Kaytronik's exclusive live set below starting Friday 8pm EST.

The Smirnoff Sound Collective is all about bringing fans closer to the DJs, providing up and coming talent with a solid platform and throwing unique events where fans and artists can party together. Check out more from the Sound Collective here
