Katie Hopkins collapsed after taking ketamine

Much-loathed TV personality Katie Hopkins got herself into a spot of bother at the weekend, collapsing in South Africa after taking ketamine.

Don't be mistaken that the former contestant of The Apprentice and Celebrity Big Brother was doing bumps at a minimal tech rave, though. After posting the below photo with the caption 'Ketamine 1 Hopkins 0', she revealed she was given K after sustaining a dislocated shoulder.

Replying to Twitter user @DVATW, Hopkins wrote: "Thank you David. I suffered a dislocated shoulder - and received ketamine from the ambulance crew. A bill for emergency and healthcare services paid gratefully and in full."

As reported by Sky News, Hopkins suffers from epilepsy which "has left her with weakened shoulders."

Her reasons for being in South Africa are for a documentary on what she describes as "the systematic cleansing of whites from South Africa."

In classic Hopkins fashion, she berated media publishers (we feel a tirade coming once she's read this) for only being interested in her ketamine-related incident, rather than the work she was doing.

As you all know and love to point out, us at Mixmag are always on the ball with any drug-related stories, though. Sorry, Katie. You'll have to take the hit this time round.

We wonder if she knows that ketamine can now be found at levels of high purity in most major cities in the UK or attended sesh community favourite Kett Fest last year.

Last year, the drug was being used in trials for treating depression, with Professor Colleen Loo of the program describing it as being "incredibly effective".

Also, let's not forget the time we went to Ketamine: The MusicalKetamine: The Musical. Yep, that really happened and we survived.

While you're here, why not read our piece on whether you have to do drugs to enjoy dance music.

These illustrations showing the results of taking a different drug on different days are cool, too.
