Techno maestro Jeff Mills will be holding a residency at London’s Barbican concert hall next June, continuing to push the boundaries of electronic music.

Three dancers will be accompanying The Wizard on the first night of the four-date run, kicking off June 8. The visually stunning performance, aptly titled ‘Life to Death and Back’, will “[explore] the Ancient Egyptian belief in Pharoahs taking on a human body to live on Earth before dying to be reborn”.

The following night sees Mills providing “an electronic cine-mix” to score a screening of 1966 sci-fi epic Fantastic Voyage.

For the third show, Mills is back to the concert hall with 'Light From The Outside World', which will see choice classics from his expansive catalogue reinterpreted by an orchestra.

To wrap things up, Mills will be taking attendees through the solar system in the UK premiere of his orchestrated performance The Planets, with the legend taking on “the role of an unconventional soloist, introducing cosmic textures, atmospheres and special effects”.

Last time around at the Barbican for Jeff Mills was an otherworldly experience that saw the inclusion of a 70-piece orchestra backing a series of his seminal tracks, with Mills performing live on his trademark Roland 909.

Tickets and more info is available on the Barbican website.
