Jacky

The Geordie hotshot isn't messing around with this one.

At the end of last year, we revealed the 16 artists that would explode in 2016 and the list is a who's who of fresh talent and young upstarts ready to take the scene by storm.

Last week we premiered the amazing Ricardo Villalobos remix of Julia Govor's new track 'Open Possibility' and now we welcome another one of our 16 artists to the fold.

Out of the entire list, no-one brings the ferocious house sound like Jacky does.

The Geordie hotshot really impressed us with a thunderous EP on Viva Limited last year and this year he's not taking any prisoners, but then, why would he? He's had Carola rolling out his tunes at Music On at Amnesia and Skream giving him major props on Radio One.

His next EP will drop on Elrow this Monday and we've already had a taste of what to expect. When the Spanish party giants came into the Lab, they brought a lot of confetti and a lot of weighty house. One of the stand-out tracks was the last tune to be played by De La Swing.

It was, of course, Jacky's new one, 'Diskotek', and it's a fucking monster. He's a big fan of triple drum kicks and the song is full of them, not to mention those outrageous drops and wall-shaking basslines to boot. Expect to hear this one on a dancefloor near you, just make sure you're holding onto your hat. This one bites hard.

The 'Diskotek' EP by Jacky will be released on Elrow on February 8
