Music On resident Hector is starting a new label named VL.

The official launch party takes place on January 17 at The BPM Festival in the Mexican selector's home country. Hector will perform alongside Vatos Locos crew members Chad Andrew, David Gtronic, Javier Carballo, Hanfry Martinez, Randall M, Hito, Pinto and Sece.

VL's first release will arrive soon after, comprising eight carefully curated tracks to showcase the Vatos Locos collective at their finest. A two-part limited edition vinyl EP lands first, followed by a digital release featuring a further two bonus cuts.

Speaking about his motivation behind the imprint, Hector revealed: "Working at Phonica in my early years and coming from a vinyl background, the most important thing for me in this industry is to be able to get the music heard in the way I feel most comfortable with.

"To have your own label and have total control over this is paramount for me. This is something that started organically and has developed naturally thanks to having a good crew who are all in it for the right reasons, no egos, just quality music and events. These guys are refreshingly talented and we all share the same vision, and I cannot wait for you to all hear the first release."

In preparation for the label launch, Hector has recorded a BPM podcast which we are exclusively premiering. Listen below.
