HAAi announces Coconut Beats series at Phonox
One month of parties curated by the Brixton resident
Phonox’s Saturday night resident HAAi has announced the full lineup for her Coconut Beats series, which includes sets from the likes of Daniel Avery and JD Twitch.
Coconut Beats started out as an intimate party HAAi would throw at Dalston’s Ridley Road Market Bar, the venue where she held down a residency previous to her time at Brixton’s Phonox. The ethos behind the night was to provide a space for HAAi, other wise know as Teneil Throssell, to showcase those tracks that were didn’t quite fit in on a normal dancefloor. Now she has resurrected the concept and, from July 1 to 29, will showcase her idiosyncratic DJing style alongside friends and family.
The series, held at Phonox, kicks off on July 1 with Moscoman, a close friend of HAAi’s. Support comes from Acid Arab. Further events include appearances from JD Twitch, one half of Optimo, Peckham’s Chaos In The CBD and a highly anticipated ‘London Acid’ set from Daniel Avery. Auntie Flo and Mr Bongo will also play.
