Jan Jelinek has installed a 150-pound cube at Image Movement in Berlin into which visitors are invited to plug their laptops and download his ‘Temple Of Fatiche’ album.

The 2013 record was previously only available in physical format. Now WAV files and digitised album artwork is available free of charge to anyone who attends the Image Movement event between now and its closing date on July 5.

The ‘Temple-cube’ is seen as a compromise between the digital and physical formats, with the effort required to download the album lessening the discardable nature of MP3s.

Jelinek told The Creators Project: “That’s exactly what I’m interested in as well: Finding ways to materialize music information. Probably because I love to judge music by looking at its cover.”

He also added that it’s “an operation that doesn’t go without difficulties.” Photographs of people struggling with the USB connection to the cube have been published.
