In celebrating 100 releases, Shogun Audio has invited a load of old friends and key label mates along for the party. Over four EPs, Friction's drum 'n' bass hub is getting new music from the likes of Shogun regulars Technimatic, Icicle, Fourward and Joe Ford.

It might be a family-heavy affair, but that's not stopping a few friends of the family turning up. Ivy Lab, Total Science, Alix Perez and Break all chip in to the 'Shogun 100' series, pulling party poppers for reaching a century of releases since the label launched in Brighton in 2004.

'EP1' came out on March 18, 'EP2' on April 15 and the third instalment will be available from May 20. That one features Fourward, Karma, Total Science and Bristol producer Break, the latter who went back to 'Simpler Times' last year.

It's Break's 'Emeralds' from the EP that we're premiering, another track proving why the Symmetry Recordings boss sits high in the list of many d'n'b fans' top producers. It may be swirling with vigour and swelling with a muscle-flexing bassline, but this one's got plenty of funk swagger in it to groove to. With sultry vocals dipping in and out, expect some goosebumps along the way.
