After releasing one of its first desktop units. Austell&Kern is back with a brand new version of its flagship music player.

Finished in a limited Stainless Steel case, the new AK240 looks even more expensive than the standard version, and will set prospective buyers back a hefty £2.499.

Like the standard model, the AK240 uses a 3.31inch AMOLED screen, carbon fibre back - and also throws in a handy leather case. For just under two and a half grand, Astell&Kern gives you uncomproised audio quality, throwing in DSD support and two dedicated 24bit/192kHz DACs for left and right channels. What's more the AK240 ships with 256GB of space, and if you run out of that, it's possible to add to it using a built in microSD slot.

Like most other high-res players, the AK240 feature both wi-fi and Bluetooth connectivity, so you can purchase more music and listen without wires.
