A zero-gravity rave is happening next month

You'll soon be able to get higher than ever before with a new club concept that is taking electronic music to the next level. Seriously, a real level up.

Frankfurt-based club and festival promoter BigCityBeats has planned a zero-gravity rave, taking the dance way up in the sky on an Airbus A310.

Jetting off from Frankfurt Airport on February 7, the flying nightclub will hold 55 passengers, of which 20 will be clubbers chose through a competition. DJs onboard include Armin van Buuren, W&W and Steve Aoki.

Don't expect a proper sesh, though, the flight will only last 90 minutes, with just 25 minutes being at zero gravity.

BigCityBeats, which is asking applicants to make a short vid saying why they should be a passenger, reckons it'll nab the record for highest club in the world, as well as the smallest. Although the latter could be held by somewhere else soon.

The zero-gravity event has been created as a pre-party for the three-day World Club Dome main event that'll take place from June 1 to 3. Returning for a fifth year, the party - spread over a purpose-built 700,000 square meter club - will have its own forest and pool areas and the theme will be Hollywood.

The airplane party also coincides with the 10th anniversary of the launch of the European Space Agency’s Columbus Laboratory Module, which has allowed the International Space Station (ISS) to carry out experiments in weightlessness. The laboratory is the largest single contribution to ISS, so what better way to celebrate than partying in zero-gravity?
