Mixmag reader Corporal David Hayden is to be awarded the Military Cross, one of the highest decorations given to members of the armed forces.

Dave will be awarded the medal by the Queen next month for outstanding bravery in battle in Iraq, after carrying one of the men under his command to safety in a fierce gun battle and leading his patrol out of danger.

Dave has been in touch with Mixmag since last summer when he sent us pics of him with Mixmag in Basra and told us about how much he likes Sander van Doorn and Eddie Halliwell - with the help of Judgement Sundays we helped ensure he had a good time in Ibiza when he returned from Basra!
