Frankie Knuckles has revealed he had his right foot amputated in July.

The pioneering house DJ broke his foot ten years ago but did not rest it properly which lead to complications resulting in the amputation this summer.

Knuckles has gone on record this week as rumours had surfaced that his whole leg had been amputated due to diabetes. This was not the case.

In an inspirational speech, Knuckles said "I didn't have a problem losing my foot. After all, I still have another. I'm no longer living in pain. I lived with that pain for almost 10 years and most of you never knew it. And you weren't supposed to".
